How it differs from the rest of the sign

The opening decan of Scorpio confronts what is in front of it. This one is looking past it. That makes the second decan the least combative of the three and the most easily misread, since the same intensity is present and it is not aimed at anybody. Against the third decan, which pulls back toward family and attachment, this one is the least personal and the most likely to be genuinely solitary.
